The Dimensions return, this time teaming up with boogie funk royalty AMALIA to rework two of her modern-classics and drop them back into the heat, smoke and dust of a 70's Kingston lawn session.
The title track finds our heroine yearning for affection and a lover's embrace in a socially-distanced world, where only imagination can bring solace, wringing out every syllable over feverish organ stabs and guitar chops as The Dimensions ride out the pyrexic Kingston Flu..
Don't Be Ashamed of Love challenges another lover to show some emotional courage, berating and beguiling, pushing and pulling, no drop of emotional energy is spared in a love drenched supplication from a lady who wants all or nothing from her man.. backed by a relentlessly upfull one drop from The Dimensions with trademark bubbling organ work and percussion and transistor effects that explode like seeds in the chalice..
Each cut pulls up with a dub version punched in by Chopstick on the mix console at Dime-a-Disc .. kick back and take a sip, look up and you can see the stars through the trees and feel a warm evening breeze drift in from a lawn dance in late '73.. ..
A portion of all proceeds will go to The Women's Centre of Jamaica, supporting teenage mothers through their secondary education.
